Hold onto your hats folks, this melt in the mouth smokey sweet BBQ beauty is going to blow you away. Low ‘n’ slow is the key here. We take ribs to the next level with a BBQ classic that packs a powerhouse of a punch. We’ve made it easy so you don’t need to spend hours tending to a smoker or a BBQ but the extra flavour steps are so, so worth it.

  • INGREDIENTS

    • 1 Large rack of pork baby back ribs (with plenty of meat on)
    • 1 Tablespoon of good quality honey
    • 2 Tablespoons of Pineapple Juice
    • 100ml of pineapple Juice mixed with 100ml of water
    • Oscar ‘n’ Ollie’s Smokey Sweet Rub
    • Your favourite BBQ Sauce (we recommend Sauce Shop Original BBQ Sauce*)
  • METHOD

    • Pre heat your oven to 140c
    • Mix together the honey and pineapple juice in a small bowl
    • Make sure there is no thin membrane on the underside of the ribs, if there is, remove it by peeling it off
    • Now place the ribs in a deep roasting tray and completely brush both sides with the honey and pineapple mix
    • Add the pineapple and water mix to the bottom of the roasting tray
    • Sprinkle a generous amount of Oscar ‘n’ Ollie’s Smokey Sweet BBQ all over the ribs and pat it down
    • Now cover the roasting tray with a double layer of foil to try and create an airtight seal
    • You are now going to cook them for around 3 hours
    • After 1.5 hours, peel back the foil and give the ribs a brush with your BBQ sauce re cover and put back in the oven
    • When the ribs are cooked, carefully remove them and place under a grill on high until browned
    • Whilst the ribs are browning, pour any remaining juices from the roasting tray into a saucepan with some BBQ sauce to warm through until like a syrup
    • Finally, place the ribs on a board and brush with the sauce, chop them up and serve them with some homemade slaw and seasoned fries**
    • Needless to say, you can also cook these on a BBQ, just find your cooking method and give it a go. * We recommend Sauce Shop Original BBQ Sauce or Cherry Bourbon BBQ Sauce: here
